The Seasons

The Zadig Trio interprets The Seasons by Piotr Ilitch Tchaikovsky with elegance and romanticism. This very poetic work by the Russian composer takes the form of twelve small scores for each month of the year. The album looks at the passage of time, with its joys and its more difficult moments. The somewhat nostalgic childhood universe resonates in the notes. The composition of the work dates from November 1875 to May 1876 and was commissioned by Nikolai Matveyevich Bernard, publisher of Nouvelliste, a monthly music magazine from St. Petersburg. It was Alexander Goedicke, a Russian composer from the beginning of the 20th century, considered one of the great Russian organists of his time, who made the arrangement of The Seasons for trio with piano.
